Indications and Dosage
Nasal
Rhinitis, Sinusitis
Adult: In combination with acetylcysteine, 2 puffs in each nostril 3-4 times daily.
Child: In combination with acetylcysteine, 1 puff in each nostril 3-4 times daily.
Contraindications
Narrow angle glaucoma, hyperthyroidism.
Special Precautions
Cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, asthma, prostatic hypertrophy. Do not swallow and avoid contact with eyes. Do not use >7 days. Elderly.
Drug Interactions
Do not use within 2 wk after treatment with antidepressant.
Action
Description: Tuaminoheptane, a volatile sympathomimetic, is used for the symptomatic relief of nasal congestion. It is often used in combination with acetylcysteine for the treatment of sinusitis and rhinitis.
